Our client, Storage Plus (and Megabox Mobile Self Storage) is an 100% Australian-owned self-storage and mobile storage business. They offer a variety of storage solutions for customers in Melbourne and across three Sydney locations, Rosebery, Waterloo and Kingsgrove.
Storage Plus originally approached pepperit to help with their organic social media strategy and execution. The mission to champion Storage Plus as the best storage provider in the Australian market. Our role evolved from social media into a comprehensive marketing effort to build up Storage Plus’ customer experience.
When you’re working with the biggest storage facility in the southern hemisphere, the remit to think outside the box may also include thinking inside the box… and about the box.
We didn’t just stop at updating their social media and digital assets. In the midst of our social strategising, we recognised key gaps in their overall marketing strategy that would become the key foundation of our work together.
And that’s what happens when you spend a lot of time working together – you learn more about each other. As we got to know Storage Plus, their brand, team, and locations and they got to know the pepperit team and our capabilities.
We continually found new areas and challenges to improve upon and work on together.
Upon performing an in-depth competitor analysis, we found that simplicity and ease of journey through the website is paramount. Particularly, for a storage business that operates to provide value-for-money solutions and is proud of its price guarantee. This finding meant there was a real need to implement on-page pricing on both their Storage Plus and Megabox websites.

Moving onto Storage Plus sister brand Megabox mobile storage we custom coded a pricing solution to combine email marketing with automated quotes to customers.
And we can’t forget about our mascot Storage Stevie! Our boxman mascot quickly became the highlight of our social media feeds, offering a distinct and engaging content piece, while also developing Storage Plus’ brand personality.
As a side note, at pepper, we pride ourselves on our ability to fix issues, and fix them quickly. When Storage Plus’ General Manager called with an issue of their website being down, our development and server team jumped to their rescue. Critical WordPress hack challenges were met with efficiency. We got the website back up and running within 2 hours.
Of course, we then transferred both websites (Storage Plus and Megabox Storage) to our website hosting service. Since moving to pepper, both websites have had 100% uptime.
Our key recommendations on website experience and pricing were implemented to great success. Since implementing our recommendations, demand for the megabox storage product has skyrocketed. As a result of this new demand, our client has increased their prices by 15%.
Job done. Higher demand = More Revenue = More Profit.
The Storage Plus brand equally had an uptick with more website enquiries and increased revenue. This is a great outcome in a highly competitive, price driven industry.
