The Cruise Advisory

The Cruise Advisory

Industry insider turns independent advisor

After more than two decades working inside the global cruise industry, Ryan Taibel saw an opportunity to bring independent, experience led advice to a complex and fast evolving sector. His career spans 25 years, including 15 years in senior commercial leadership roles with Carnival Corporation across brands including Holland America Line, Seabourn and P&O Cruises, where he led brand strategy, trade growth and multi brand sales teams across Australia and New Zealand.

Having taken more than 50 cruises across every category, from luxury expeditions to large scale conference sailings and family voyages, Ryan understands the industry from both the commercial and customer perspective.

The Cruise Advisory was created as the next step in that journey. A specialist consultancy built to provide clear, strategic guidance to both travellers and industry partners, grounded in real world experience rather than theory.

THE MISSION

The Cruise Advisory was a brand new venture. No legacy visuals. No existing website. No framework.

Ryan needed more than a logo. He needed a fully formed brand that reflected the weight of his experience while complementing his sister platform, The Cruise Vault.

The Cruise Vault makes booking easy and accessible. The Cruise Advisory needed to feel strategic, premium and consultative. It had to speak confidently to two audiences: travellers seeking personalised, high touch guidance, and B2B partners looking for commercial expertise shaped by years inside the industry.

The goal was to launch as a complete brand, with identity, website, stationery and digital presence all aligned from day one.

OUR APPROACH

We began with the foundations.

A comprehensive brand guideline was created to define how The Cruise Advisory shows up in the world. We developed a logo suite including primary, stacked and icon variations, supported by clear spacing rules and minimum size guidance. Every file format was prepared for digital and print use, ensuring consistency across every touchpoint.

The colour palette was carefully considered to complement The Cruise Vault while standing independently. The tones needed to signal professionalism, authority and trust without losing warmth. Clear usage guidance was documented so the brand remains cohesive as it grows.

Typography was selected with both personality and practicality in mind. As the website would be built on WordPress using Astra, all typefaces were chosen for compatibility and long term usability. Heading and body hierarchies were defined, along with digital alternates, to ensure the brand translates seamlessly across web, presentations and email marketing.

With the visual system established, we rolled the brand out across business cards, email signatures, letterheads, PowerPoint templates and email templates. Every asset now feels considered and unified. Nothing improvised. Nothing inconsistent.

From there, we built the website from scratch using WordPress and Astra. Hosting and DNS were configured, the site architecture planned, and a clean, strategic design developed to position Ryan as both a trusted advisor and commercial authority. A structured contact form was integrated to drive enquiries, supported by an initial SEO setup to lay the groundwork for discoverability.

The result is a site that does not simply describe services. It builds confidence.

A cohesive brand system designed to position The Cruise Advisory as both a trusted advisor and a commercial authority.

THE UPSHOT

The Cruise Advisory launched as a fully formed, credible brand, ready to operate from day one.

Since going live, the website has attracted steady traffic, with 276 sessions recorded in the first month. The site is already ranking on the first page for key search terms including cruise advisory, cruise advice, cruises 2026 and cruise out of Sydney 2026. Organic visitors are spending an average of two minutes on the site, indicating strong engagement and genuine interest.

Beyond the data, the impact has been strategic. The Cruise Advisory has given Ryan a distinct, professional platform to step confidently into the market as an independent advisor. The brand is being recognised within the industry for its polish and authority, reinforcing his credibility while clearly differentiating this venture from his corporate past.

With strong foundations in place and visibility continuing to grow, The Cruise Advisory is positioned to build momentum in both the consumer and industry spaces.
