Amid the day-to-day demands of your law firm operations, it’s common for business development and marketing to be an afterthought.
The pepperit team have years of experience working with law firms and we know how difficult it can be to take an unbillable-moment to think about marketing, and develop a strategy that’s right for your growth stage.
It doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming. And, with the right execution, can be hugely beneficial to your firm. Here are five easy wins that any law firm can implement to improve their digital marketing in 2025.
1. Start with a Strategy
Before you dive into social media posts or writing a blog, take a moment to outline a simple strategy. Who are your clients? What platforms are they using? What problems do they have? What are some other service providers that they would interact with? What are your key messages: no more than 5! This is a good base to start from, to create meaningful, client-focused content that meets your audience where they are.
2. Refresh Your Website for Search
If you haven’t looked at your website’s SEO in a while, now’s the time. Identify keywords your clients are already searching for, from “family lawyer in Newcastle” to “how to contest a will” and ensure your website content reflects what you provide and what people are looking for. Make sure your site is mobile friendly, loads quickly, and provides a clear path for enquiries.
3. Use Social Media with Purpose
You don’t need to post every day, but you should be present and current. Share your firm’s insights on legal changes, highlight the expertise of your team; or, take just 15 minutes each week to plan the right content that shows you are in the game. Consistency and relevance are key, not volume.
4. Reignite Your Email Marketing
If you’ve built a contact list over the years, don’t let it go to waste. These people could be colleagues and partners as well as clients. Regular, useful emails (not just updates about your firm) can keep your audience connected and position your team as a trusted resource.
5. Make Your Content Work Harder
Make the most of that blog post. Turn it into a short video, an infographic, or a carousel for LinkedIn. Repurposing content helps you stay visible, saves time, and looks professional.
Digital marketing does not need to be perfect from the outset. What matters most is connecting with your clients where they are. Rather than overplanning or delaying, begin with consistent, practical steps and refine your approach as you go. Whether your goal is to build visibility, re-engage past clients, or demonstrate your firm’s expertise, every action contributes to long-term growth.
